Pb Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon
Wine
Jim Barry Pb Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon was originally a private bottling made by winemaker Peter Barry. Family and friends encouraged him to repeat the blend commercially.
The fruit is estate grown in the Clare Valley, where the vines benefit from the region's rolling topography, ideal winter rainfall and Mediterranean climate.
The blend is two thirds Shiraz with the remainder Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermentation is in open fermenters. Rack and returns, as well as pump overs, extract colour and flavour from the grapes.
The wine is pressed to predominantly French oak barrels to undergo malolactic fermentation and maturation.
Rich inky red, Jim Barry Pb Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon has bright berry fruit flavours, firm, fine tannins and a long, persistent finish. Cellaring potential is 15 years.
